Corinne, yes it is magical. It is being landscaped at the moment so although the sign says open it is not. I want to tour it and get some photos...

  5. Hello Jan.
This brings to mind one of those houses you see in movies in which someone sinister lives! (smile) Would be interesting to see what the inside looks like.
    Awesome moment!
    Thanks for sharing.

  6. Wow Jan! At first glance it reminds me of an old, spooky house, one I might have seen in Amityville Horror? After a closer look, I realized that a spooky house probably wouldn't be garnishing Christmas wreaths :) Great moment! Truly a treasure.

  9. I feel as though I've stepped back in time . . . all that's missing is some snow, but it is a great photo of a rambling Victorian nonetheless!
    Blessings!

  13. I expect to see someone peeking out from behind the curtains...That is the vibe I receive upon glancing at this house. It's eerily spooky and could certainly be used in a suspenseful movie. Thanks for sharing!!

  16. Thank you everyone, this waas the home of one of the founding fathers of Eugene, built in 1880. The background story says it was always called "The Castle on the Hill". Very appropriate I think. Later the trees grew up around it and it is not so visible. It backs up to Skinner's Butte, so named for another founding father. Next to that is the one and only "Skyscraper", in Eugene.
