Finally; Photos of Our Trip to Brookings

This has taken me forever to put together, problem is, as I go through the photos I get caught up in memories.Good ones, bad ones, from my past and from our recent trip. I decided not to put the photos of the kids on this blog; I will be posting those on the family blog at a later date. I did this because I kept getting distracted by the time we had. The kids told me they had never seen me so happy as I was that day. I hadn't realized how much I missed "my" beaches until I was there. I can only hope my complete love comes through in these.

We start a few miles north of Gold Beach, Oregon and at the mouth of the Rogue River.

Next; South Jetty Beach, the port of Brookings-Harbor, this is the beach and jetty that I spent many many hours on in my youth and young adulthood. The ocean was my therapist, the jetty my security, I would sit on the very last rock for hours. Contemplating life, if I should go on or just dive in. I never dove in. I always saw or felt something while there, maybe the steady ebb and flow, maybe the power, or the beauty. I am still not sure, but all the same I credit the ocean and nature for saving my life, showing me peace, seriously the first love I ever knew.

Now we travel back north a bit, right at the edge of town, to Harris Beach State Park. This is where a I did a certain amount of illegal activities, a little wine and song is all. This was also the turn around point for our night time cruising.

Bird Island

Last Stop a little further north: Whales Head State Park, I came here with mama a lot I walked the beach while she sat and watched the water. I used to cruise with mama too, we always ended up here somehow, she was avoiding the crowdthat I wanted to be with so badly.

Oops, one more stop in North Bend Oregon, I had to try a night shot of the lights on the ships, not such a great photo, but it was fun to try.

    1. Thanks Mitzi, I was a bit fearful of this becoming a slideshow the neighbors don't really wanna see. I am glad you enjoyed it. It was such a fun Reunion with my beaches and sharing it with hubby and grands made it marvelous.

  8. Thanks Rachel, I know huh, we didn't have otters when I lived there, or cats, or nearly so many pelicans, just seagulls...I love it there though, so much.

  9. I love it, that the ocean was your therapist. These photos are full of wonder. What a place to sit and contemplate life, and just be. I’m in love with this beach that embraced your soul early on, that saved your life. It must have retrieved for you so many memories. It sounds like a healing spot on earth.
