The Wild Game Park

Randy and I took a road trip with our grands earlier this month. We went to the Game Park in Bandon, Oregon. After spending a couple hours there we decided to travel on down the coast to Brookings which is where I grew up. I was so excited to show the kids "my" beaches, we had a wonderful time. While there I broke another camera, guess my photography is a little on the wild side. This time, I set it on a shelf in a restroom with lens completely extended for Zoom. It slipped right off the shelf and onto the concrete floor, now the thing is a bit sideways. Randy half fixed it for me and I was able to use it for a bit longer. Guess I really need to get my camera fixed. When I got home I discovered that between the camera I was using and Randy's we had taken over 1500 photos. It has taken me awhile to cull them out and get them ready for show, and even then I will be doing 3 if not 4 postings of these. It was an absolutely fabulous trip, I hope you enjoy what you see as well.
This first posting will be large and full of animals. The next will be of animals as well, then we will move on down the coast to the beaches. There are a couple from a stop for breakfast, near the ocean.

  1. Dear Jan,
Looks like everyone had a grand time. These are great! The children look so happy and at the end of the day, that's what it's all about...quality family time. Looking forward to the next ones. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Thank you Andy; I discovered through this that Randy is much better with animals than I. He has a ton more patience and waits for the right moment...There will some of his in the next posting.

  9. WOW!!! This definitely looks like a place where I would take 1000+ photos! I see you said hi to the tortoises for me. Thanks! LOVE all the peacock pictures. Is that white bird a peacock too? Albino?

You may be surprised to know that the picture that really made me say "AWWWWWWWW...." was the boy holding the raccoon. So jealous! They just look so cute I want to hug them and squeeze them and love them... but the ones I see roaming my neighborhood are likely not as calm or disease free as that little dude, so I say hi from far away. :)

    1. Oh we took that at least...The tortoises were awesome, course it was feeding time so they were quite active, made it nice for the photos and kids. The white one is a peacock, but not sure if Albino, he was roaming free and no info on him.

The baby animals were all great, "the Boy" wanted to adopt a baby possum after seeing how cute they are when little, and a raccoon. I had to say no, he was pretty dis appointed. We have a family of raccoon's that have a route past our house. I have been trying for months to get a phot of them but hey move by so fast that I haven't been able to catch them with the lens yet. They are quite large and scary

      Gald you enjoyed your visit..
