Walking/Falling

Most of you know that I have broken my camera...It is my fault, I exposed it to the weather, I did not take proper care. I borrowed one, until I can get mine repaired, bearing that in mind, I have tried to be much better in my care of this camera. Even when I am being diligent I have issues. I was near the end of my walk, I was on a small sandy river bar, large holes had been dug for one reason or another, I observed this, I was very careful where I stepped. I got a phone call from Randy. Phone to my ear gabbing away, camera up and shooting, walking slowly, observantly along. I stepped straight down into one of those holes, it was just above the knee on me, I bent the leg backwards, which hurt like hell, the camera flew in one direction, landing half buried in the sand. Phone the other way also buried in the sand. Now I have two of my lifelines covered in wet sand and a wounded leg....It was raining of course so I was trying to hurry and grab them both and my foot got stuck. I was laughing and crying, the 3 guys that were loading their boat just stood there and looked at me with their mouths open...Ah well, the camera and phone are okay and I was too after a couple days...Here are the photos I got before the fall.

  6. Dear Jan,
Are you OK? Hope no bodily parts were broken.
These are some fantastic shots. You know the flowers are going to be my favorite (smile). Love the ones with the raindrop tears on them and the walkway with the petals on the floor makes me feel like I'm swimming in love! LOL

    1. Rest assured Andy I am fine, just very blasted clumsy. thank you, I love the flowers too of course, but I think my favorite of this set is the last one. That may be because that is the very sand bar I fell on and it was the last shot of the day...lol

  9. This is a beautiful place to live and I haven't even scratched the surface with my photos. There are many city shots I would love to take, but alas I am a chicken when it comes to wielding my camera in public places like that. Thank you, tbaoo.

  10. Sorry you had an accident. That's why it's important to stop everything you are doing, sit down and focus on one task at a time. I know, I'm no good at doing that either. But, I do try to slow down significantly. After watching so many people in videos have bad accidents or falling, I take it a lot more seriously. Glad you are ok now though, and of course the phone and camera. The photos look wonderful. I particularly like the white statue.

    1. Thanks Jenni, you are so right. I have been dealing with this crap all of my life and it seems the more weight I gain the worse I get, misjudging my size probably....my mind is always on the next immediate task.

  11. Oh no Jan! I’m so sorry to hear about your fiasco with the camera. But fall or no fall, your photos are just lovely. Is that wisteria, those trailing lavender plants? They’re all remarkable, crisp and clear.
I’m just glad you’re okay – and the camera and cell too, your lifelines all intact ;-)

    1. Thank you Debra, yes I believe it is wisteria, I was completely mesmerized by them. It probably would have been hilarious to see the fall, probably why the guys didn't help, laughing to hard, funny to see or not it hurt like hell for a bit. I was blessed with the camera being okay, certainly can't afford to get 2 of them fixed. I am glad you liked the photos.

  14. Oh man, Jan. That sucks you tumbled with the camera! Glad your leg is recovered. I am quite a clutz myself. I banged my head on a door jam last week while talking on the phone. Those cell phones are dangerous!

    LOVE the covered walkway. :)
