Photos of random items. Some reflecting a mood I am in, others for the shear joy of it. Challenge and persistence in finding that perfect shot, without manipulating the situation is key for me. No lessons here, I don't have the knowledge to teach.
After a week in the house with a bunch of yukky sick people, I begged my husband to take me out. thankfully he obliged. We headed out to Culp Creek,Oregon and continued on to Brice Creek and then even further out into the mountains where there are Forest Service numbers rather than names. We had Lewis along, he took a much needed nap, the weather was horrible, raining and hailing in the valley, quickly turning to straight hail, then snow the further up we went. I have as I have stated an inexpensive bridge camera. I does not have one of those shield thingy's for the lens, so I used my hand to protect it from getting wet. We discovered a lot of different stuff, like it was a 3 mile walk to Trestle Falls, which is where I was going to photograph. Randy wouldn't humor me that much, always says he is a trucker he doesn't walk. I am glad it turned out the way it did, I walked part way down the trail, got some wonderful shots, then we traveled on up the road where I saw so much more than I would have. I think this is the best photography I have ever done. I hope you enjoy as well.

3) The signs on the posts are for mining claims, The Bohemian gold Mines, of Brice and Sharps Creek, founded about 1858, they are still actively panned for gold . You don't carry a pan out there you might get shot...

108 now we are just having fun. Randy loves to play in the snow.
Well I think there will always be worries when you take photos over whether they turned out 1/2 as good as you "think" they did, but it's time like these that show you how far you've come and how far your eye has developed. You should definitely be less worried and over the moon proud!! (((( Jan ))))
Thank you so much, I am proud in a weird kind of way, why would I feel guilty for being proud??? Number 72 completely stunned me. I sat looking at it for a very long time. it is my favorite. these are all exactly what I saw through the lens too. I am still overwhelmed I think.
Because your journey through this life hasn't always been something to be proud of, but you have come so far and continue to go so far every single day despite the bumps along the road. This most recent journey with your camera though should ABSOLUTELY be something you are proud of. In fact, you should be so proud that you should print and frame #72 and keep it where you can see it all the time as a reminder of the greatness you lock down deep and to remind you that you should be proud of yourself all day, every day.
My favorites are....5, 23, 34, 50, 53, 63, 69, 71, 72, 74, 75, 97, 108, 110, and 115 all for different reasons! =)
Thank you Jewell, you made me cry. It has been a long journey, getting longer it seems, but that is much better than not having a journey. I appreciate your support so much.
My dear Jan, WoW! It's like you stepped into two different climates! One's all green & lush & then bam...all white! Magnificent shots! You should be really proud of your work. Thanks for the mini journey. I can just visualize how frigid that water must be...brrrr. Listening to the sleep sounds is making me sleepy, so I'll say goodnight. See you again soon dear. Thanks for always stopping by.
Thank you Andy, it was bitter cold where it was lush and green, not so bad where it was snowing...it was cold but less wind. I am proud of these, the important part is getting to sare and you all seem to like them too! Thank you for the visit and comment. <3
Oh, FAB!! Sheer MB(Mindblowing)!! more han these photos I admire your grit to go ahead through all this and yet present us these jewels! My 'salute' to you! -Portia
These were the perfect images to gaze at as I am waking up with my first cup of coffee. Loved the stream, the paths, the trees, and the snow! All so peaceful, inviting, and serene . . . Great photos, Jan! Blessings!
I'm so glad that you got cabin fever or we would have never gone on this nature walk. I turned on the video and headed out. I was a little cold but the view was so amazing I soon forgot about the weather. When it started to snow I tried catching flakes on my tongue. Everything looked enchanted! This was beautiful. You're an amazing photographer, and the fact that you braved the elements made the photos that much more impressive. Thank you for taking me with you <3
I don't think there is anything that relaxes me more than to head out into nature with my camera. The snowy scenes are my favorite, but then again, I am partial to snow :) Wonderful display! It obviously was well worth you time and effort because you took great photos. Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you Mary, I am glad that you enjoyed, it was so worth the time, bonding with nature and the hubby at the same time was a wonderful experience. And I get to share. <3<3<3
What a stunning location and photo after photo of sheer quality. You have an exceptional eye for beauty. I haven't seen the rest of your work but if this is your best then you should be very, very proud of it.
Thank you Leah, I am too, I love to journey with my camera, I love to share and I love to see other peoples journeys as well...I am excited to have a new face to share with.<3
Beautiful set of work. I esp. like the church. Many of my FB follows are no longer showing up on my FB pages and I can't figure out why. Must be some change FB made, yet again! I've gotten bogged down learning new software so haven't been blogging Photography Tips. Keep on shooting - your work is excellent and inspiring.
Thanks Eddie, this is the best thing that has ever happened to me besides Randy. My camera is not much but it sure is a lifeline for me. Thanks again. <3<3<3
