Hi my friends, I had a major flip out the other day, hmmmm not a good situation. I wont go into details here, I will say that stopping at the rose gardens was the best choice I could have made. It was bright and sunny, quite a few people to my surprise, only because as sunny as it was, it was also bitter cold, especially near the river. The bikers and walkers didn't surprise me so much as the meandering couples. Always so warming to see people in love walking and holding hands, talking and laughing at their private jokes. I didn't intrude with photos; just observed, I walked away full of appreciation and love for the dear Randy, also a little lonely, he is gone a few extra days this trip. I always go a little off balance when that happens..

Very little software use, some might have needed a little noise reduction, but I liked them the way they were reflecting my mood. I did have to play tag with the sun a bit to accomplish getting any shots.
What a beautiful rose garden! We have one that I love to visit with my children..it's amazing the fragrances that fill the air and inundate the senses when they are in full bloom. Next time I go there I'll have to bring my camera...You've inspired me! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the rose garden in spring/summer too, but it was nice now as well.I loved seeing the beginnings of the new sprouts as spring edges closer and all the rose hips. It was a beautiful walk. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteMy dear Jan,
ReplyDeleteI have to say the rose garden is my favorite. Whenever my wife & I get a chance, we like to do stuff like this...just walk together...lost in each other. When in love, you don't notice how cold it is...you only have eyes for each other (smile).
Your photos bring out the romantic in me. To some, especially at this chilly time of year, they will look harsh, but to me, I only see beauty. Just think how much more beautiful they will be when everything is in full bloom & awash with color.
Lovely shots. Thanks for taking me along on your journey.
Wishing Randy a safe return home too.
Take care, my dear & have a wonderful week ahead!
Oh I love the rose gardens, I love that ours are so close to the river. Thank you for visiting and the well wishes for Randy.

ReplyDeleteThank you Hocum, I am glad you enjoyed the walk, thank you for the compliments.
DeleteJan, there is something endearing about a winter garden, when life seems frozen in time, and all color has been muted leaving just the bare essentials. It's like seeing a beauty queen early in the morning, before she's had a chance to put on her face. She's still beautiful, maybe even more beautiful in this vulnerable state.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photographs Jan. Thank you for sharing them.
Thank you Leah, I love gardens in the winter as well. I think you are right with your analogy too, the vulnerability seems to ooze from the garden this time of year. Thank you for the compliments.
DeleteI love going on walks with you! All the beauty, none of the tiredness. LOL.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the picture looking down over the mossy steps into the water. :)
Thank you Rachel, yeah I get all the tiredness lol. I don't really though, not until I get home and get everything downloaded. Then suddenly I collapse...lol; The steps are one of my favorites too, I also like #9 and #53. I love the magic cat in 9, I didn't spot him while I was shooting and there he sits right in the center.
DeleteThere were a lot of lurkers that is for sure. I did get a little spooked as dark started to move in....I swear those alien thingys were moving and talking. Thanks for the visit.
