Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson House, a Queen Anne Victorian residence built in 1880 |
Photos of random items. Some reflecting a mood I am in, others for the shear joy of it. Challenge and persistence in finding that perfect shot, without manipulating the situation is key for me. No lessons here, I don't have the knowledge to teach.
Jan is this your home? This structure seems to carry so much mystery...
ReplyDeleteI really like it..

ReplyDeleteThank you
ReplyDeleteCorinne, yes it is magical. It is being landscaped at the moment so although the sign says open it is not. I want to tour it and get some photos...
Hello Jan.
ReplyDeleteThis brings to mind one of those houses you see in movies in which someone sinister lives! (smile) Would be interesting to see what the inside looks like.
Awesome moment!
Thanks for sharing.
Wow Jan! At first glance it reminds me of an old, spooky house, one I might have seen in Amityville Horror? After a closer look, I realized that a spooky house probably wouldn't be garnishing Christmas wreaths :) Great moment! Truly a treasure.

ReplyDeleteJan you captured this a treat, it a beautiful house. When I see pictures like this they tell a story all on their own, that's how you know it's a great picture x
ReplyDeleteI feel as though I've stepped back in time . . . all that's missing is some snow, but it is a great photo of a rambling Victorian nonetheless!

I expect to see someone peeking out from behind the curtains...That is the vibe I receive upon glancing at this house. It's eerily spooky and could certainly be used in a suspenseful movie. Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you everyone, this waas the home of one of the founding fathers of Eugene, built in 1880. The background story says it was always called "The Castle on the Hill". Very appropriate I think. Later the trees grew up around it and it is not so visible. It backs up to Skinner's Butte, so named for another founding father. Next to that is the one and only "Skyscraper", in Eugene.
ReplyDeleteLove the close up! I'd already seen it on your other post...this was a perfect choice for your Friday moment. :D
