Alton Baker Park, During the Rain. (Beware graphic photo of hawk eating a bird)

I walked around Alton Baker Park today, it was pouring rain at times, thus the smudges on some of the photos. The park was flooded, but had gone down some, but was still plenty high. The water of the Willamette River was very rough, full of waves, and moving fast.  These are posted in the order of my walk, some of the same things at different angles. The last few are of the structures, bridges and such, the first 4 are from the window at the Doctor's office I was at with my mama, she thought I was nuts. I wonder why only now she thinks so...I have always been nuts.

There are a lot of photos so please take your time and enjoy.

I had had a rough week and today had been no different. Now that I am getting everything else settled, other stuff is popping up to give me a headache. Isn't that how it goes. I walked in the rain, up down and around stood and stared at the raging water and began to feel myself heal. Miraculous things happen if you let them. The hawk was the first thing I saw as I walked into the park, the cycle of life happening before my eyes. It made a difference in my perspective immediately, watching the raging waters of the river was  exciting  and exhilarating. Trying to take photos in the rain, on the bridge with traffic bouncing it was the perfect challenge. I guess you could say I had an intense therapy session today.
I hope you enjoyed your walk with me. Love to you.

  1. # 36 - The guy in the red shirt just sitting in a desolate spot on a misty day was interesting. And the flood sign. There’s a story in that.

I’m glad you warned us of the hawk eating bird. Eek! And oh my, does the Willamette River ever look fierce!

What a bleak day, but what great shots you got here Jan!

  2. The Willamette is not generally so rough, but we have been having storms for over a week, with lots and lots of rain. We had over two inches just today, that is just in the valley, not sure what was going on in the mountains, snow I know but how much I am not sure. Thank you Debra, I debated about putting the hawk on here but it was an integral part of my trip.

  4. Thanks for visiting and commenting Tbaoo, That i a big ping pong ball, I'm not sure what it really is; some sort of art I suppose. Ping pong ball works for me. I going to hit one of the other parks tomorrow and see what I can see. Silly me I worry for the critters.
