Walking our Street with my Grandaughter

My granddaughter loves flowers, more importantantly she loves to pick them to make bouquets, or simply to present a blossom to someone she loves. Unfortunately, all the flowers she has access too, are in someones's yard. I had the task of explaining to her that picking them was wrong, they don't belong to her. In my attempt I remembered that she also loves photos I take of flowers and wants to learn how to do it. We took off on a walk, with her baby brother and my 2 borrowed cameras. She learned if you don't pick the flowers they are there for everyone to enjoy and if you take photos a lot more people can enjoy them. Here is what we came up with, her pointing out what she wanted a picture of and me trying to get the composition correct with a toddler in a stroller trying to crawl out. We had a great time, I hope you do too!
This is my favorite of the collection.

  3. Dear Jan,
I absolutely love flowers. Looking at these just brings a smile to my face. All my favorite colors too...I'm imagining myself along on the walk with you smelling these beautiful blooms. Just gorgeous & not bad for borrowed cameras! (smile). I just might ask to use some of these as the images for my upcoming collaboration blog Lovers' Cove. Very nice. Thank you for sharing dear friend. <3

    1. Thank you Andy, it was a fun even with the new frustrations. I am so not used to accommodating others on my walks, let alone on my photography forays...lol. It was good though, we have all been learning and adjusting and this proved to me that I can still take pictures.

You are welcome to borrow whatever you like just let me know and I will send you a link or you should be able to download from here.

I hopefully will be able to visit your blog once more, I have so many meetings and whatnot right now, the computer seems a bit alien to me. Love to you always. jan

  4. Oh, I simply adored taking this walk with you, Jan! And, what a great lesson for your precious granddaughter - that if she doesn't pick them, they will be there to enjoy tomorrow. My favorite is the one with the ladybug! :)
Thanks for treating us all to such beauty, my friend!
    Blessings!

  5. Your granddaughter is blessed to have a grandmother that teaches her to appreciate nature and to take the time to stop and smell, and look at the flowers! Beautiful pictures! Such vibrant colors!

    1. Thank you Jessica, she and I have something different that is for sure. She has taught me an awfully lot about being gentle and tender. It was a cloudy day which enhances the color somehow....
